Child labor in the Gaza Strip is a matter of great concern in view of the political, economic, and social context.
Many children are forced to work from a young age to support their families, selling goods on the streets or jumping at passing cars to offer to wash them. Most stop their studies entirely once they finnish 9th grade.
We are a small group of grassroots activists working across international lines to help families keep their children in school.
By providing a monthly allowance to children.
Our team in Gaza will search and contact working children’s families.
70$ per month is enough to cover a child’s expenses with school and to compensate the family for the missing income.
In the first month, allowance will be 100$ to cover school uniform purchase.
The Fund’s objective is to allow donators to sponsor a child, having our team following up on them and providing updates every month via our facebook page @ https://www.facebook.com/PalestinianChildFund/.
We already have a few people commited to sponsoring a child by contributing monthly to our fund. But in order to commit to these families, we need to be able to secure at least the ammount corresponding to five children’s yearly allowances.
Reaching our goal will allow us start the project.
